Well, today we are going to see a tutorial to install Android 2.3.7  firmware which is very stable ROM with lots of features and no ICS firmware ROMs can be installed on such a low end Smartphone. So, this ROM can be the first choice for Galaxy 5 users and in due course of article, we would be checking a detailed tutorial for the same along with detailed pre-requites

Pre-requisites to Install Android 2.3.7 on Your Samsung Galaxy 5 GT-I5503/I5500

• Make sure that the device on which you are applying this update is Galaxy 5 GT-I5503/I5500 and not any other device by Samsung or any other company.
• We recommend you to backup all your contacts, back, logs, etc. with Backup apps.
• You can import your data to your phone’s SD card and later on you can export it back.
• Make sure that your phone has sufficient battery, at least 80% before you apply the update because if your phone will get switched off between of the time you are applying the update and you won’t be able to update your device and even you could face several issues like your phone gets DEAD and we won’t be responsible for that.
• Enable USB debugging on your phone. Follow the path Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging and USB debugging would be enabled on your mobile device.

Steps to Install Android 2.3.7 on Your Samsung Galaxy 5 GT-I5503/I5500

• Firstly download 
  Android 2.3.7 Package from here to your Computer.
• Now extract the same and it would contain – Europa file, CWM ROM, Odin and Google Apps Package.
• Now connect your phone to the computer and place the CWM ROM and Google Apps package into your phone’s SD card.
• Now disconnect your phone from your computer.
• Turn off your device now so as to enter into download mode.
• To enter your device, into download mode, press and hold Volume Down + Center button + Power till the time your phone enters into download mode.

Now open the Odin application in your computer and connect your device to the Computer and make sure Odin is open in your computer. In Odin, click on OPS tab and select the“EUROPA.OPS” file and select “ClockworkMod-Galaxy5-v0.4.tar”  

 Finally just hit Start button and the flashing process will start.

After the flashing process is done, your device would automatically boot into recovery mode as shown above

Use the D pad or Volume +/- buttons browse and center button to select

• Now you need to perform a wipe on your device by firstly selecting ‘wipe data/factory reset’ and ‘wipe cache partition’ on the next screen and once this cache is cleared, navigate to ‘advanced’ option and select ‘wipe dalvik cache’.
• Next, you have to select “install zip from SD card” and then select “choose zip from SD card”,   and then select the ‘CM ROM firmware package’ which you placed in your device earlier. The ROM would start installing and would complete in few minutes.
• Once it gets completed, it will land again to the recovery screen.
• In the recovery screen, you need to select “install zip from SD card” and then select “choose zip from SD card“,   and this time you have to select the ‘Android Apps Package’which you placed in your device earlier.
• Well, the installation process would complete in few minutes and once it gets completed, it will land again to the recovery screen.
• in the recovery screen you need to press back button
• and then option of “reboot system now” to restart your phone.
• So, congrats, you are done with applying this update.

So, you have successfully installed Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread on Your Samsung Galaxy 5 GT-I5503/I5500.
